- To determine the wavelength of sodium light with the help of a Fresnel's Bi-prism
- To determine the thickness of MICA SHEET with the help of Fresnel's Bi-prism
APPARATUS USED
1. OPTICAL BENCH
- It consists of two metallic rods (one rod is engraved in mms) overall length 160 cms , Scale length 150 cms. supported by heavy cast iron feet, provided with 4 metal riders -2 of these provided with fine cross motion & w/o motion.
- All the 4 sliders are fitted with hollow pillars with accessories (i) Lens Holder - 2 nos. (Ii) Needles - 2 nos
- FULL Shapered 4 sliders i.e the upper & lowers ides are machine shapered for smooth moment on the double rods and having two screws for rigit support on rods works as strong clamping when tightened
2. Biprism set up Bi-Prism Assembly P-689 Consists of following app.:-
(i) Bi-Prism Holder : fine radial motion by a fine pitch screw.
(ii) Lens Holder spring type : for equal opening & closing of both sides
(iii) Micrometer Eye Piece : Rams den Eye Piece, 10 x, is carried on a slider which moves along a micrometer screw, perfectly made.
(iv) Optical Slit : Ground S.S. Jaws having spring action for
(v) Fresnel Bi-Prism Size : 40 mm x 32 mm
3. Mercury Vapour Lamp 80 watt with choke & wooden box having slits fitted.
